Living with Assistance (LWA) aims to provide individualized and specialized support services to individuals of all ages and abilities.

Fun fact:

In Vodou belief, the Lwa are the primary spirits, whether of human or divine origin, that were created by Bondye (God) to assist the living in their daily affairs.

And that’s exactly what LWA (Living with Assistance) is here to do for you!

What does LWA offer?

  • Pokémon Trading Event

    Curious about Pokémon or already collecting? Want to make some new friends? Check out our Pokémon Trading Event!

  • Building Confidence Course

    Each week, we will cover a new topic that will help all participants to work toward building confidence in their independent living skills. This course includes an interactive workbook (sent via PDF), and participants should be able to read and write to an extent (assistance is welcome from family or support staff!). At the end of each class, we will review and give a simple assignment for individual’s to put their new knowledge into action!

  • ASAP Groups and Classes

    LWA’s ASAP (Adult Social Activities Program) Groups and Classes are provided in the community and online and are available to the general public. These classes teach a variety of skills and are designed to promote independence, increase social skills, encourage growth of life skills, and create a community of other like-minded individuals striving to be the best that they can be.

  • Community Based Supports (COMING SOON!)

    Community-Based Supports are delivered one-on-one with a participant and may include but are not limited to: assistance with community-based activities and assistance to, as well as training and supervision of, individuals as they learn and perform the various tasks that are included in basic self-care, social skills, and activities of daily living.

  • Community Inclusion Services (COMING SOON!)

    Community Inclusion Services are delivered in a group setting not to exceed six (6) individuals. These are services provided outside of a participant’s home that support and assist participants in educational, enrichment or recreational activities as outlined in his/her Service Plan that are intended to enhance inclusion in the community.

  • Respite Care (COMING SOON!)

    Respite services are provided to participants who are unable to care for themselves on a short-term basis because of the absence or need for relief of those persons who normally provide care for the participant. Respite may be delivered in multiple periods of duration such as partial hour, hourly, daily without overnight, or daily with overnight.
